The style of subcultures found in districts like Harajuku, Ginza, and Shibuya are unmatched from the rest of world. There are a variety of styles underneath the this Rising Sun. Since many of these style tribes can easily crossover and change season to season, each group is separated into certain kei (style) sub-genres, and there are tons of magazines that target each demographic.

Gyaru-kei:

(Goshikku(Gothic), Saike(Psyche), Bohemian(Hippie), Baika /Bozosoku/Rokku(Rock/Metal), and Haady...)

Gyaru fashion is typically characterized by having heavily bleached or dyed hair (mostly shades from dark brown to blonde), highly decorated nails, and dramatic makeup.
The makeup typically consists of dark eyeliner and fake eyelashes used in ways intended to make the eyes appear larger. Clothing pieces for gyaru fashion differ depending on which gyaru style the individual chooses.

Onee Gyaru & Mama

Oneegyaru (お姉ギャル): a gyaru who has graduated from high school, and thus become a more mature onee-san (literally "elder sister" but, here, "young lady"). The style is more sophisticated.

Kawaii Styles

(Fairy; Decora Kei; Aomoji)

The Decora style originated in the late 90s/early 2000s and rose to great popularity both in and outside Japan. The clothes are usually in black, dark pink or baby pink, but other neon colors were also acceptable (pastels could be found rarely). A plain shirt and hoodie were often worn with short tutu-like skirts in the same color-way. The hair (often worn in low ponytails with long bangs) and the makeup itself is quite plain. However, the most significant part of decora is to pile on tons of cute accessories until the bangs and shirts are barely visible. Stockings, legwarmers, arm warmers, and knee socks are also worn atop each other in different layers. Common details also include leopard prints and patterned dental masks. The style was eventually merged/replaced in the late 2000s by fairy kei and OTT-lolita in Japan. Though it is still a relatively popular style overseas. “Basically, ‘aomoji-kei’ is about wearing whatever you want to wear without caring whether or not you look attractive, cute, or sexy."

Agejo

(Kyabajo)

Agejo is a very glamorous, and sexy style. Generally worn by your typical hostess, not limited to a hostess. The idea is to be flawlessly glamorous, and desirable. Emphasizing on enlarging, and enhancing the eyes with circle contact lenses, with several sets of false eyelashes. The hairstyle is always styled as in updos, curls, extensions, wigs etc. Very common for agejo's to wear a couple wigs at the same time. This style is very feminine. Two steps away from being Hime-Gyaru. Agejo is a little more skimpy but classy.

Take Care of your hair tips:

1. Always use a comb(wide tooth is preferred) to style your hair and if you bought wig essence use to help detangle with the comb.
2. Use a hair cap to protect your hair from wig uses.
3. Wash your hair with cold water(preferred) or lukewarm and you can use dry-shampoo spray sparingly and let dry naturally. If you're using human hair or proceed hair use protein shampoo (Pantene).
4. To much use of Alcohol-based hair products can actually deteriorate the wig fibers, especially on synthetic wigs.
5. Use your wigs holder/heads(after washing), or use the original packaging it came in which usually can be closed with a snap-back button to protect and store your hair.
